How to use

The product can be applied daily, twice a day for replenishing magnesium levels / before a workout to warm-up / during intensive workouts / after a workout or bath / to facilitate the regeneration of muscles and joints.

MERU Magnesium Oil is a natural mineral solution that contains magnesium and is based on the experiences of sportspersons. It is a concentrate of 30% pure magnesium-chloride. When sprayed, one pump releases approximately 0.20mL, so 0.06g magnesium-chloride reaches the skin each time.

Similarly to Epsom salt and other bath salts, when the skin absorbs magnesium, there is a beneficial effect on muscles, regeneration and general performance.

Transdermal (topical) application of magnesium-chloride provides an ideal source of magnesium.

One of its main benefits is getting a high amount of magnesium into the body without stressing the digestive tract, so it does not cause diarrhea. It is absorbed by the skin very well, and certain tests suggest that in comparison with orally taken supplements, it gets used by the body more quickly. How to use

Magnesium oil simply needs to be (locally) applied onto the targeted area and left on. It enters the lower systems under the skin, and affects the tissues (e.g. the targeted muscles). In an acute situation (pulled muscle, muscle spasm, fatigue, etc.), locally applied magnesium oil can be highly beneficial, as opposed to orally taken supplements (that require a longer time to take effect).

It should be applied onto cleansed skin surface; all traces of skincare and bodycare creams should be removed before use, since these may inhibit the absorption of magnesium. After a daily shower/bath, applying magnesium oil can be part of the everyday bodycare regimen. Apply 5-10 pumps directly onto the skin and muscles, and massage it in, making sure to avoid sensitive areas. (Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes!) Massage it into the skin.

The initial tingling sensation disappears after multiple use. Shake well before use.

The use of magnesium oil initially results in a tingling, somewhat itchy sensation, which gradually disappears as a result of multiple use and as the magnesium supplies are replenished. It leaves a salty-oily feel on the skin. It is recommended for the sports massage of legs, arms, shoulders and the neck in order to restore strength and muscle function.

Sportspersons reported that magnesium oil (concentrated magnesium-chloride) applied directly onto the stressed muscle during a workout or competition may boost performance and enhance the recovery of strength and muscle function. It is an ideal aid in sports medicine, since it has been known to prevent pulled muscles and/or speed up recovery from such injuries by soaking the feet in a foot bath with magnesium oil.

Effect

• Tingling sensation: An initial tingling sensation, itchiness or warmth might be experienced due to the high magnesium-chloride content. As magnesium supplies are replenished, the initial tingling sensation will subside. As the substance is absorbed, the tingling sensation disappears and will not re-occur after multiple use. This is not an irritation, but a harmless, normal phenomenon. The intensity may depend on various factors, such as the area where the product is applied, and the applied quantity. If this sensation is disturbing, the product may be diluted with water, or mixed into creams.
